We serve Spokane, Washington, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and the broader Inland Northwest. Gerry and Rosa Yates founded the company, and three generations of our family operate it now. Our team has more than 85 years of combined experience, and about 10 to 15 people work here.
We handle residential and commercial projects: blinds, shades, shutters, custom draperies, exterior shades, retractable awnings, security roll shutters, and motorized window coverings. Products can be manual or motorized. Our trained, certified technicians install motorized systems so they work with a home's smart-home setup.
We are not tied to one manufacturer. We carry Hunter Douglas, Graber, Norman, Alta, Skandia, Mecho, Lutron, SunSetter, Talius, and MagnaTrack. Drapery fabrics include RM COCO, Carole Fabrics, and Horizon Window Fashions.

Gerry and his crew went above and beyond to provide us with exactly what we wanted. We ordered lined woven blinds that are battery operated. Game changer! I hardly know how to say how great my experience with Factory Rep Blinds has been. Co-founder
Rosa Harton was born in Spokane and spent her early years in Texas and California before returning as a teen. She met Gerry at John Rogers High School. She is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She quilts, paints, and cooks, and she was active in her children’s education.
She worked in several industries, then became a factory representative. She partners with Gerry as office administrator and bookkeeper. She and Gerry travel together. She introduced Gerry to the Gospel.
Owner
Gerry is a Spokane native and a John Rogers High School graduate. He grew up in a horticulture and floral design family. He spent 37 years representing Hunter Douglas and Graber and training hundreds of dealers across seven states. He and Rosa then started this family window covering business.
He and Rosa have been married more than 50 years. They have four children, twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Sales representative
Dana’s work starts with the relationship. Most of her projects come from repeat clients and referrals. She listens, learns the goal, and guides the design choices. She stays involved from selection through installation.
Scheduling, vendors, and bookkeeping
Amy handles scheduling, vendor follow-up, and the books. She keeps vendor relationships and internal processes moving, and she checks the details so the job is finished correctly.
Installer
Michael installs with close attention to the home. His installation experience and training in smart-home and motorization technology are what make the blinds fit and operate correctly.
Project manager
Billy keeps installations on schedule and installed correctly. He previously worked as a respiratory therapist, supervisor, and sales manager. He is also a woodworker. He is married to Jenifer Edwards.
Installer
John installs blinds and builds furniture by hand. He has been commissioned to build pieces for homes across the Inland Northwest.
Office operations assistant
Jenifer has a degree in business and in sales and marketing, and she keeps the office organized. She is secretary of the Spokane Youth Symphony Board of Directors. She has taught violin and music classes, and she homeschooled for 24 years. She and her husband, Billy Edwards, have six boys.
Installation and customer service
Ethan is the third generation in the family business. He grew up around window coverings and works in installation and customer service, in several roles in the company.
